On October 2, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, the Ebris Foundation will host World Elderly Day, dedicated to protecting aging.
World Elderly Day is an opportunity to reflect on how to safeguard the elderly from vulnerability in different aspects of their lives. This unique event will address critical issues, including the physical and mental well-being of seniors, the preservation of their rights and the privacy of personal data, and the socio-cultural dimension of their aging.
Of particular interest is the reference to the ancient rules of the Salerno Medical School, a cultural heritage that remains relevant in today’s healthcare and social context.
The event will be coordinated by Professor Emeritus Paolo Ciambelli, a well-known member of the board of EAPE (European Association for the Advancement of Elderly People).
Among the speakers, was Professor Rita Patrizia Aquino, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Mediterranean Medicinal Plants at the University of Salerno. She will deliver a presentation titled “Wellness and Healthy Aging: From the Salerno Medical School to Science-Based Skin Care.” Her contribution will be of fundamental importance in exploring how traditional knowledge can be applied to modern skin care practices and the overall well-being of the elderly.
