The UNESCO Chair Salerno “Plants for Health in the Mediterranean Traditions” is honoured to have contributed to the volume – Empowering higher education in Africa: Italy and the UNESCO Chair Network – resulting from the work of all ReCUI Chairs.
The volume’s pages allow readers to delve deeply into the work of the Italian UNESCO Chairs network (ReCUI) in Africa.
The foundation of cooperation between Italian UNESCO Chairs and African institutions is mutual collaboration, knowledge and skills sharing, support for research, innovation, education, and mainly scientific diplomacy.
Global challenges such as climate change, food security, public health, and natural resource management are the main topics of the collaboration.
More than a formal scientific treaty, the volume is a tool for learning about the activities and efforts of the Italian UNESCO Chairs and their African partners in promoting education and sustainable development in Africa.
